$1M bond set for accused murderer

Jeremiah Gurule is 22-years-old an accused meth addict and gang member

Police say Gurule confessed to stabbing his girlfriend on Friday in their home near Menaul and Morris

On Monday his bond was raised to one-million dollars cash only

This is the second time Gurule has been accused of killing someone At age 17
Gurule was locked up for killing 16-year-old Darline Pachecho during an alleged gang shooting back in May of 2005

Two years into the case it was dismissed and Gurule was released from jail on grounds that he didn t receive a speedy trial

District Attorney Kari Brandenburg blames a key witness to the 2005 shooting for the case s dismissal She says the witness was hard to find

The case couldn t go forward without this eyewitness We were seeking to get another extension when the court dismissed the case said Brandenburg

Brandenburg says they can not re-file murder charges against Gurule from that 2005 case

Meanwhile police have yet to reveal the identity of his girlfriend waiting for official announcement from the Medical Investigator s office
